We are paying more taxes than US corporations

Why do actual investors earn less than their benchmarks?

A recent study found that, while certain mutual funds and ETFs delivered a 9.4% average annual total return for the past decade, the average investor in these funds got only 7.7% due to poorly timed trading activity. This really hurts those who are investing for a big goal like house down payment or retirement or business start up. Over time, a $250 a month investment would reach $1.3 million WITHOUT the trading activity. Timing the markets would result in total accumulation of only $805,605—a loss of $494,395. In another study, Fidelity found that its accounts that did the best were those for which the owners forgot about them. Investing is simple to be successful but not easy. Gambling is hard to be successful but easy to do. Successful investors have 3 ‘pots’ of money: Patience for the long-term goals and impatience for the short-term get-rich-quick schemes. The third pot pays for living expenses.

What is the single most important reason for financial failure?

You are right; it is debt. If we had no debt, especially interest debt that can NOT be deducted, we could easily reach our long-term goals. We have credit card debt, mortgage debt and car debt. We borrow an average $34,635 for new vehicles and $21,438 for used vehicles. The average loan term is 70 months for new cars, 65 months for used cars and 37 months for leased vehicles. The average monthly payments for new, used and leased vehicles is $563, $397, $450. And this is an era of low interest rates. Interest is NOT deductible unless your company leases your car. So how is financial failure defined? How much do we lose with our vehicle loans? Investing $563 for 70 months could yield $59,541. Investing instead of buying on time provides enough money to buy a vehicle outright. This is why the wealthy pay cash for their rides. Their cash is special: their cash is compounded cash. They earn the money we pay on debt. We pay 9.46% they earn 9%.

Most Americans are paying more taxes than US corporations pay

In fact many large profitable companies have Negative tax rates—taking our money as a refund. Most tech companies, including Oracle, Adobe and Microsoft are still paying much less by using an accounting trick to report profits outside the US. Many large profitable firms like Wells Fargo, Salesforce, AbbVie, Duke Energy, Adobe, Broadcom, IBM, Medtronic, and GE have a negative rate—We actually give them our tax payments. The rest pay lower rates than we do: NVIDIA, NextEra Energy, Bank of America, Pfizer, and Texas Instruments pay the lowest rates. The average overall company tax rate is only 19.7%. Our average is 32.9% including Fed, state, SS, Medicare, sales and gas taxes. This does not include property tax which some of us pay. We don’t receive a state subsidy like the $3 billion state subsidy that Foxconn got in 2018. Some call government-supported corporate tax refunds and grants US socialism.

Insurers may be overcharging you for coverage

Insurers use our credit scores and history to set premiums for car, home and rent insurance. Other service providers (rental agent, mortgage and auto loan) may use credit scores to set their charges. The CARES Act placed a temporary hold on reporting negative credit information to bureaus that collect credit history. When the hold is lifted, you may get whacked with increases in everything if the pandemic has disrupted your life. Some insurers recognize that the pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on the credit scores of some racial and income groups. Some are making it their business model to switch to a usage-based approach. Insurer Root’s usage-based approach can define a new industry approach that ties driving risk directly to driving habits rather than proxies. Thus drivers who speed, text and cause accidents may have a lower premium than safe drivers who have filed bankruptcy due to a medical catastrophe. Thus some insurers may offer you a better deal but unless you shop every 2 years you won’t know. And don’t forget to check for excessive car repair problems before you buy again.

What is your plan for your next financial stress?

Most of us have no plan to deal with a financial emergency. A plan BEFORE a crisis while in retirement would provide us with peace of mind—one of the most important goals we have. I hear about folks that are overwhelmed by a medical expense event, a family member money request, and a huge loss in retirement savings. In a recent survey, the most common answers given by folks age 40-73 were ask family and friends, children, church/state agencies, work and downsize to live on SS benefits. These are desperation measures, not a plan. My experience with folks who made a plan shows that building an emergency fund of HALF a year’s expenses works best. These folks kept that emergency money in a balanced fund like Vanguard’s Wellesley Income not a bank: they earn 7% not 1%. First, you feel better. Second, the money gives you time to figure out what to do. Third, the crisis may be over in a year. Make a plan using the tools that are available online for FREE.

How to protect your retirement funds and keep them growing

The best protection is not putting your money in bank products, money market funds, an annuity, or bonds. These are the vehicles I see folks using because their advisors told them to “protect” savings in “safe” accounts. However, as inflation rises, they will lose buying power—probably for a long time to come. Unless you know you will die in a couple of years, fixed return investments will starve you to death. All of the traditional “safe” places are providing Wall Street with great revenue. However, these places don’t help you. Over the next 30 years, you could be giving away HALF your potential nest egg. The best way to protect your funds is to grow them—the best defense is a great offense.  Growth and security come from a combination of stocks, bonds and real estate holdings. Over time, your nest egg will continue to grow with stocks while bonds and real estate provide stability. A low cost balanced fund provides steady total returns of over 7%. For instance, Vanguard’s Wellesley Income Fund has provided 40 years of solid returns over 7% on average. Retirement income is thus a combination of interest and dividends. As part of the Vanguard Top Ten funds, investors shift more of their assets to this fund as they progress in retirement.

What are you doing with your tax cut?

What are you doing with your tax cut?
Why not use this FREE money you did not expect, to secure your retirement nest egg? Warren Buffett makes it easy using a SIMPLE Strategy
He beat Wall Street ‘professionals’ with his strategy—22% in 2017; 11.11% since 1976.
The Master of investing, Warren Buffett, proved it, again. You do NOT need Wall Street 'professionals' to reach your financial goals. In fact, if you use them, you may give up 63% of your potential accumulations because of trading, charges, commissions and fees. Buffett’s SIMPLE strategy earns over 11% per year. DALBAR keeps track of returns and found that the average managed-account equity investor earned just 3.79% a year over 30 years. The benchmark returned 11.06%. You and I can start beating Wall Street with one phone call. Earnings are tax-FREE after age 59 ½ in special account too.
Earn 11% a year with Buffett’s SIMPLE strategy: https://www.amazon.com/MasterClass-Buffetts-SIMPLE-Strategy/dp/1983485268

How do you know if this is a market correction?
You don’t know when it will occur. Nobody does. So, like any accident—unforeseen event—we must be prepared. We must have our portfolio so arranged that we know what will happen in a correction and we can live with it. Actually, many investors have seen this before and realize they have no alternative because there is no ‘safe’ investment. Wall Street creates these dives by using program trading to capture the ups & downs. Investments in different segments perform well over time—just not all at the same time. http://www.mymoneyblog.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/callan2018.gif.
Thus, last year every segment did well but in 2008, every segment did poorly except bonds. However, some segments did worse than others and then made it up the next year. Bonds remained at the bottom as they usually do. Only a few lucky advisors timed the market in 2007 to go into bonds and avoid the carnage. Buffett says “be greedy when others are fearful.” Now is the time to fund your 2017 IRA.

Is your Robo-advisor up to the task?
Many Robo advisors were just not available when the market changed direction quickly last week. Human advisors were hard to reach also. These advisors get paid to be there especially in a market downfall but they were AWOL. Why are you paying for advice which you don’t get at the MOST crucial time? It is something to ask yourself. Does it matter to you that their equipment can’t handle the calls or they are out sick. The point is you pay 1-2% of your assets EVERY year, not for the ‘tip sheet’ or special opportunities but for the hand holding when the bottom falls out of the market. Almost no security was sparred this time. Did you get an email or call reassuring you that you are in the market for the long-haul? Did your Robo explain that you had discussed what to do in a correction? Did your advisor remind you that your special opportunity might evaporate if the market went against you? Why pay for help you don’t need AND don’t get?

What happens if you have dispute with your broker/advisor?
You can file a complaint. You can hire a lawyer to plead your case to the FINRA—that broker-dealer ‘self-governing’ body. Only industry that Fed lets owners police themselves. You can win arbitration and have the record show you have an award. However, 30% or more monetary awards to investors in arbitration claims go unpaid, the self-regulator said. “It’s crystal clear this is and remains a huge problem for FINRA and therefore for investors,” says PIABA President Andrew Stoltmann. Deregulation by Trump allows your advisor to easily remove the record of their misdeeds. Bad brokers welcomed by firms that need revenue. Your broker/advisor has multiple lawyers paid big bucks to defend them. Brokerage failures are excused. Firms avoid fines with lawyers.

Best last minute tax saving move
Tax filing began Jan 29 even though all the forms are late in arriving. If you find you owe tax instead of hitting the refund button this year, you may still be able to claim your refund. You can reduce your 2017 income and receive a tax credit. Credits reduce your taxes dollar for dollar. In effect, Uncle Sam can help you reduce taxes AND save for retirement at the same time. On line 32, Form 1040 or line 17, Form 1040a, you can enter up to $5,500 ($6,500 over age 50) as IRA contribution to reduce your income. If you meet the qualification, a credit will show up on Line 51, Form 1040 or Line 34, 1040a. You subtract this credit from your tax. EG: Income $66,000: tax refund is $3,335, without IRA contribution. With the contribution, the refund is $4,392 or $5,553 if you both make the contribution. Credit against tax is $400. IRS checks to see you have IRA.

IRS free tax filing sites to avoid $300+ cost of filing
Commercial tax prep sites offer expensive loans as advances on your refund but you can keep your whole refund using the IRS free filing partners. Refunds can be in your account within 2-3 weeks. The average refund is over $3,000. Check your refund: https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp
You can create a tax-free retirement fund of $500,000 with that amount each year. If you need free tax preparer service for your 1040, use AARP Tax Aides near you. Bring last year’s return and ID: https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/
Use your refund to fund your tax-FREE IRS approved account: https://www.amazon.com/Tax-FREE-Retirement-code-lifetime-income/dp/1475206976

Are you able to take advantage of the new 20% deduction?
Accountants are hard at work with Trump’s new tax avoidance angle: A 20% deduction for pass-through businesses. If you have your own business or could have it, your accountant is quickly working out how you either put all your income/assets into one entity or cutting them up into several. The model for this tax avoidance scheme is Trump’s own empire. He develops or owns real estate, runs properties for others, name royalties, sells beef & perfume, runs events and jets and TV productions. Because he has global reach, his profits may stay overseas or be taxed at lower rates inside subsidiaries or pass-throughs like LLCs. He may avoid tax by putting his profits in a subsidiary and then bankrupting the business debts. He did that in 1995 and avoided tax for years after.

Where are the Trump tax cuts going? Not for jobs
Twenty-seven of our biggest businesses have already spent about $100 billion buying back stocks from shareholders in 2018, a move that shows how the new GOP tax law is primarily benefiting wealthy Americans and large corporations, says a new report. “Firms already had access to all kinds of cheap investment capital, even before the tax plan,” said economist Jared Bernstein. At a news conference in late December, Trump cited Wells Fargo's decision to increase wages and charitable giving; changes the company says will cost about $215 million. In January, the bank announced about $22 billion in corporate share buybacks. Corporate buybacks involved more than 100 times as much money. So, let’s be honest. Tax breaks help the wealthy. Working people will get taxed.

Which of these tax subsidies do you want to stop paying for?

Which of these tax subsidies do you want to stop paying for?
Tell your Congress person you aren’t going to pay for it anymore. In the upcoming tax bill, which of these tax subsidies would you end: http://www.goodjobsfirst.org/ sites/default/files/docs/pdf/UncleSamsFavoriteCorporations.pdf. Here are the largest corporate welfare recipients: https://www.cheatsheet.com/ business/high-on-the-hog-the-top-8-corporate-welfare-recipients.html/?a=viewall. GOP wants to cut taxes for the rich and increase the interest payments on debt to the Chinese! GOP idea that corporations make jobs with tax cuts was proven wrong by KS 2010, when they cut taxes and almost went bankrupt. Tax cuts are usually invested overseas where the corporation can make more money from cheap labor. Example: Carrier got tax breaks from IN and sill moved to Mexico because wages are ¼ US wages.
REAL reform means an end to the corporate loopholes and subsidies. But how can Congress do that when our ‘reps’ get their money from same companies? They give profitable energy firms like Exxon subsidies they don’t need. GOP propaganda of tax reform hides the increases for us. Ask your ‘rep’ to end just one subsidy!

Many corporations pay no taxes already
Trump and GOP want to cut taxes for corporations but most don’t pay taxes now. Many store their cash overseas so they can’t be taxed. We can’t do that legally! We must pay tax on all worldwide income and most of us don’t have a legal team (deductible) to avoid taxes with legal gimmicks. For instance, some like Google use the Dutch Sandwich to save $3.6 Billion in taxes. Others use the Double Irish to use foreign tax laws we can’t.
Some receive our tax money as subsidies even though they are profitable: Nike, Royal Dutch Shell, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Intel, Alcoa, Boeing. 75% of disclosed subsidy dollars have gone to 965 big companies. The total known value of subsidies across the country came out at an estimated $110 billion, although it’s likely more.

Warren Buffett can be your investment 'advisor'
He does not charge trading commissions or fees. You can’t pick the wrong stocks. You can earn 11% on your long-term money and end up with HALF a million dollars or more with one phone call. The average advisor-assisted investor earned just 3.79% instead of the market rate of 11%. You use the strategy proven by Warren Buffett, the greatest investor of our time. We beat Wall Street at their own game by using Warren Buffett's strategy: buy and keep buying the largest mutual funds run at cost and owned by us, the investors. Buffett prediction: index beat best hedge fund ‘professionals’ by a mile.
A plain market index fund beat 92-95% of the returns of "professional" managers, including hedge funds. Stock picking by geniuses works only for a short time. Insiders may have an edge but it is illegal and you could get caught like Martha Stewart.
To earn more, we pay as little as we can. We own stocks of companies with certain characteristics. We pay less and get more.
We use a special investment account to eliminate all future income and capital gains taxes. It is IRS approved for workers only.
No one can time the market successfully over time. We don't pay Wall Street owners the $1.3 Trillion per year revenues they take from their clients.

Who will be against ‘Medicare for All’ law?
99% of all Americans would benefit with FREEDOM from rising prices, co pays and deductibles, paperwork, anxiety of paying for illness if they could find an affordable plan, finding a medical team to treat their family from birth to death. Most people over 65 love having care with Medicare and Medicare Advantage, a system that was created because NO ONE wants to be searching for care after age 65 when NO insurer wants to pay the bills. So who is trying to kill Bernie Sanders’ bill? All insurers, drug firms, pharmacy benefit management firms and their hundreds of lobbyists and lawyers. These are the people who decide whether and how long each of us will live and die. Our doctors don’t make the decisions in consult with our families. Consider how many TV and magazine ads we pay for to boost a drug use despite side effects that make an erection last for 4 hours or kill you after promising “longer life.” Lobbyists are paid to tell our ‘reps’ what to do about health care. They have created this system. They were against Medicare when it started and they are against ‘Medicare for All’ too. Put the lobbyists out of business.
Tell your ‘rep’ you want to take back your health care management. We will save big!
You favor ‘Medicare for All.’ It’s not socialism but social security for our families just like all the Congress people and staffs have in Washington and the state houses! Equality.

GOP religionists blame gays for god’s floods and get rich too
Religionists say “this flood is from God,” punishment for the former mayor of Houston attempting to subpoena ministers’ sermons. Some attribute the storm to a wrathful God’s vengeance on liberals. Pastor Rick says storms don’t “happen by accident.” Pastor Kevin Irma would be altered by God if the Supreme Court quickly made abortion and gay marriage illegal. ‘Pastor’ Rush says Irma is way to advance liberal agenda on climate change. ‘Pastor’ Alex asks the govt to fix Irma before it floods FL. Most GOP believe Darwin’s evolution theory is wrong and the world was created recently. Today, 16  SIXTEEN million Americans think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Trump wants TX churches to receive federal funds for flood damage even though they have insurance. GOP budget spending bill allows churches to influence elections for ideologues. GOP is twisting Christ teachings to favor the ‘Pharisees.’

Buy American Mr Trump!
Save America--buy cars and trucks by buying Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Yes, most models sold in America are made in America, while several Ford, GM and Dodge models are made in Mexico and Canada. Check where your vehicle is made: https://www.kbb.com/car-reviews-and-news/top-10/my-car-is-made-where/2100000943-20/

Save up to 50% on the price of slightly used luxury car
If you do not wish to pay to rent a car forever (leasing), your best deal could be buying a 3 year old luxury model like a BMW 3 or 5 or E class. For instance, after a 36-month lease, you could nab an E350 for $33,727 or less (48.4%) off the original price. For one of the safest and most recognizable luxury cars on the market, you could do much worse for a $65,000 car. In Consumer Reports rankings of the 2014 luxury models, E-Class scored best in reliability among German models.

Do you pay taxes at a higher rate than the idle rich?
You probably pay federal and state income tax, payroll tax, Medicare and Social Security and maybe union dues and hopefully discounted health insurance. If you are lucky you have enough left over to invest for retirement. If you are really lucky you are buying your home and paying property taxes. Most surveys say that you are paying at least 34% just for taxes. Add union dues of $500, family health insurance $6,471, family leave insurance $26, unemployment insurance $138, and pension $6,000. You also may be paying $7,000 on your home and $2,000 in property tax. Most people live in states with sales tax and pay 5-7% of their disposable income on stuff they need to live. All 97 taxes.
Warren Buffett pays 17.7%, Mitt Romney pays 15%, John Kerry pays 13% and Apple pays 9.8%. Buffett says he does nothing special to avoid taxes. Looks like the wealthy ALREADY have a flat tax Mr Cruz. Congress is NOT talking about cutting our TOTAL taxes. We could if we ended all the subsidies and loopholes. President Trump claimed he pays as little as possible—1995 return shows he got a refund and had charge offs for about 20 years too. Until Congress cuts our TOTAL taxes, we all should …

So you want a safe high return on your money?
God has not created that investment yet. To receive a high return with little chance of loss you must give your money to a bank as the owner. To receive a return of 10-12% per year with little chance of loss, you must leave your money in profitable companies for a period over 20 years. In a business, there are many factors that determine if the owners make money in any given year. However, most of the largest firms will make money or the owners would hire a new manager or sell their shares.
There are no safe and sure businesses like salesmen describe in a get-rich-quick scheme. Just ask Warren Buffett, the guy who consistently makes over 20% a year for his company owners. Buffett recommends you buy low-cost index funds that own many companies and pass the returns on to you. Simple. But it’s hard to wait.

Your KEY decisions on Social Security start before Congress cuts back on benefits
GOP Ryan has vowed to cut benefits because we are getting older. Reagan fixed SS in the 1980s so you must wait for your full benefits. Ryan wants to cut benefits instead of increasing the salary cap beyond $127,200. If you are wealthy, you don’t pay ANYTHING into the system because you have dividends not wages: you get the benefits. Why not tax ALL income?
Your decision is Option 1: keep working and collect more. Benefits are 76 percent higher than it would be if you started taking benefits at 62, and 32 percent higher than it would be if you claimed at age 66, your normal start age. Option 2: Start at 62 because you could die. Option 3: Claim your spouse benefit if married 10 years. Option 4: Even if they die, you can claim theirs. Option 5: Ask SS about the difference between widow/widower and spousal benefits. Option 6: Ask for help to apply for disability benefits. Option 7: Know your benefits now: http://www.myretirementpaycheck.org/. Option 8: We almost lost $1,485 a month in benefits because we failed to visit the local SS office. If you fail to find your correct option early, you can’t go back.

Medicare for ALL
Bernie Sanders thinks we can have health care for less cost. Americans pay about double what other countries pay in total for less care. Many Americans have to sit in hospitals all day to be seen. Millions who work for employers without benefits don’t get care and must get sick to go to the hospital for major problems especially in GOP states.
Imagine paying nothing when you go to the doctor’s office—no copayments, deductibles or portion of your bill. Any prescription drugs would cost you no more than $200 per year. And for all this, you’d pay insurance premiums of just 4% of your income. Since everyone is covered, most doctors and hospitals will have to accept Medicare reimbursement.
The only people who lose are the middlemen and women who get paid to stand between us and health care providers. They employ another group of wealthy people to tell our ‘reps’ what to do on laws. The insurance company infrastructure would have to find something else to do. That clerk who tells you that you are not covered for the procedure your doctor recommends would need to find work. Also the hundreds at the pharmacy wholesaler who decide EpiPens should cost you $609 not $30. Also hundreds of marketing people who make TV and media adverts to sell drugs to your doctor. Yes, doctors are being told what to push. Can our ‘reps’ get elected w/o drug money?
If GOP can vote to end ObamaCare, they could vote for Medicare for US.

Trump is still just a mafia contractor from Queens—Dad taught him to be The Don.

Smoking gun: “Our boy can become president of the USA and we can engineer it,” Sater wrote in an email to lawyer Cohen. “I will get all of Putins team to buy in on this.”

Trump’s group places mob ties above country; it’s about money POWER not US service.

Mobsters don’t call the FBI when Jr doing an illegal deal with fellow mobsters.

Russian agent admits to propaganda war on US. We were duped by pro-Trump agents.

‘Ministry of Truth’ 1984 novel:
There is deal on DACA, The Wall, storm funds, debt, taxes. The dealmaker always wins.
Trump: middle class is the focus of tax plan, taxes on the wealthy need to increase.

My Theory:
No one expected him to win so no harm getting Putin help. Don owes Vlad’s mob money so they sent mob gofer Manafort to run the campaign. ‘Colluding’ Putin style.

TrumpWorld – using presidency to make money the old fashioned way: theft

Dictator talk time:
“When the president does it, that means it is not illegal,” Richard Nixon

The Don is moving us to a dictatorship where the only people who go to jail are his enemies and non whites he does not like. Racists and nationalists get pardons. If Flynn and Manafort get indicted by Mueller, The Don will just give them a “get out of jail free” card so they don’t rat him out.
Dictators use “back to law and order” to limit rights, fill jails, fund army, follow enemies.
Trump associates fear his revenge more than the special prosecutor and jail for lying.

“The president can’t have a conflict of interest.” The Don is above the law?

Quid pro quo: "something for something."
Govt voter integrity witch hunt commission for suppressing DEM votes in 2018.
DACA deal to let immigrants work and pay tax but not vote DEM in 2020.
Wall funds in form of ‘border security’ bill.
Trump rescinded Obama flood reg so Houston builders could build/flood anywhere.

How many Americans would vote to bring back Obama? He did things we need done.

Regulation is necessary: We need protection. Saves $12 billion of our money!

Trumper misunderstands NH voter rules and claims voter fraud gave Hill election there.

Bizz tax cut in half; use your tax shelter

Trump wants 35% to 15% tax rate for bizz; cut your rate too
Wealthy receive most of the benefits from this tax cut that will cost $5.5 Trillion over 10 years. Trump staff claim it will not raise the deficit. Bush II claimed same and deficit up 57%. Corporations are considered to have unlimited speech rights like humans and Trump wants to cut their taxes so they have more to spend on our elections. Your tax rate is closer to 35% all in, but you don’t have the Supremes citizen united decision in your favor. You can’t give unlimited dollars to make sure your policies are followed by your rep in Washington. How is that a fair playing field? If you were a Congress person and your next election was riding on how you treat your donors, who would you listen to?  You, average citizen earning $50,000, or big oil, big coal, big pharma, big agriculture, big banks, big investors? No contest; lobbyists win. Trump will solidify the corporate control of America as a banana republic where “the little people” pay the taxes and the wealthy and corporations take the benefits. Many corporations hide their earnings overseas in complicated tax shelters even the IRS does not understand.
We have only one option.

Don Trump could be a great president
Student loans could be refinanced at 2% instead of private companies charging us 4-8%
Some loans are at a fixed rate as high as 12.87%. Instead of firms and our gov making $ billions in profits on our loans, lower rates could help close the delinquency gap. Since our taxes guarantee profits to these private firms, why not use those funds to lower the rates making the payments less difficult. Trump’s legacy would be a whole generation of thankful students and parents. Many retirees are still paying their kids high rate loans after years; never refinanced to a bank HELOC rate of 2.99%. The future of America’s youth should not be left to the guaranteed profit of the federal government and a few privileged firms like Sallie Mae Bank with Return on average equity of 19.63%.

Wells Fargo created millions of fake accounts—How did regulators miss it?
Are we not surprised that year after year, this big bank could encourage front-line workers to commit fraud? We know why they did it—because “that is where the money is” as bank robber Willie Sutton said. What is a mystery is how did the regulators miss it? 1.5 million fake accounts is hard to hide. Unless senior management and regulators looked the other way on purpose. Actually, the city of Los Angeles sued in 2015 because a customer complained. Finally in September 2016 the new federal regulator CFPB, that Senator Warren championed, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau stepped in. The bank regulator, Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), did nothing even with 700 whistle-blower complaints as of 2010. The bank’s board did not respond to complaints in 2005, 06, 07, etc. Without Obama’s CFPB, banks and other financial firms could get away with ‘murder’—robbing $5 million in fees for overdraft etc and ruining credit scores for HALF a million customers. Oh and 5,300 employees lost their jobs too.
When the banks control the regulators, called regulatory capture you know it is wrong.
Populist Trump wants to end Obama’s customer protection and leave regulation to the bankers themselves. He will let big banks continue to subvert Dodd-Frank regulations. Prepare for TrumpWorld: https://www.amazon.com/Your-Retirement-Income-Checklist-TrumpWorld/dp/1544703260

Once you have your nest egg, how do you make it last?
If you are nearing retirement and you have built your nest egg, how are you going to keep it growing? Few retirees sit with someone and answer the question, “How will you have enough for 30 or 40 years?” Once you hit 66, you or your spouse has a good chance of hitting age 90. When you spend 4-5% of your nest egg and your advisor has you in “never lose money” fixed investments of 2%, you can do the math—you end up with $0. In 20 years, your fixed annuity or pension amount will be guaranteed but the payments will be worth HALF their value. The IRS requires that you withdrawal a “Required Minimum Distribution” every year so you can pay taxes on your nest egg gains. You face huge penalties if you chose to conserve your nest egg and ignore the RMD. You can ignore your advisor’s choice and take the calculated risk all wealthy people do. They maintain a “balanced” portfolio during their whole time in retirement.
A low-cost (0.08%) balanced fund would have earned 8.77% in 2016 and cost you only $400 on a $½ million nest egg. A balanced account with 60% bonds 40% stocks would have averaged 6% a year even with the losses in 2008. Over the next 15 years, you not only could have maintained your eggs, you could have added some. In a low-cost balanced fund managed by a licensed advisor on salary and backed by the largest mutual fund company in the world, you could have doubled your eggs. You would have enough no matter what happened in the future on Wall Street.

Obama’s legacy—history will tell the story of Two Americas
Future generations will look back and discuss what went wrong at the beginning of health care in America using examples. Even now as Congress fights a civil war over the issue of health as a right or as a privilege of class, we can see history in the making. In one state, the premiums are doubling and there is only one provider. In another, premiums are steady and there are 4 providers. In a state like KY, the Dem government embraced the exchanges where thousands got to pick their own quality care for the first time ever. The GOP came to power in 2015 and reversed the progress in people’s health coverage. In other jurisdictions, conservative state politicians blocked care for the most needy from the beginning. Some states were just not going to give the new plan a chance. “I was never for Obamacare from the beginning,” John D. Doak, the Oklahoma insurance commissioner, said. A small business owner feels that the needy receive subsidies and he does not because his income is much greater. Some states ignore ideology and take steps to create the best market for their citizens. Some states control insurer’s rates and plan benefits and don’t let insurers sell junk plans. Now the president is using health care subsidies as a stick to force Dems to vote for his wall spending bill. Under the new GOP health bill, Congress keeps for itself the 10 Obama essential benefits. House Republicans quietly inserted a provision in the latest version of their health care overhaul plan that exempts members and their staffs from the GOP effort to repeal or shred most of the Obamacare regulations and protections, including those guaranteeing Americans a broad array of medical services and restrictions on premium hikes for older and sicker people.

Read this before you file for Social Security, especially if born before 1954
‘The life you save could be your own.’ If you are getting near your full retirement benefit age of 66, or if you are thinking of filing early, read this caution about filing yourself: https://www.benefitnews.com/news/avoid-a-real-mess-on-social-security. Even though you may be in a hurry and don’t want to wait, wait for an appointment with your local office. Why? There are ways for both of you to collect while one of you continues to increase their benefits. Yes, the difference is significant. If you file for ‘restricted’ spousal benefits only, your spouse can collect a spouse benefit and their own at the same time. If you file at age 62 because you are unemployable and she is over age 66 and still working you can make up for your ¼ cut by using her spousal benefit too. When she reaches age 70, she will receive the highest benefit possible. That may be $2,769 versus $1,485 a month. Working together with an SS clerk, you can maximize your benefits. Even if you are divorced, this can work in certain situations. Make an appointment 6 months before you expect to file or by age 62 to see if you qualify.

Would you buy a car that would lose 38% of value in FIRST year?
The famous Jaguar XK costs about $85k. They lost 29.2 percent of their value in the last 12 months. Jag XK are like the 20 cars on this list of cars plummeting in value. Some are ordinary like Chevy Impala and some are rare like the Genesis. Some are losing 38% of value and some are losing the standard 20% in the first year. Style and customer preferences account for the most of the drops. For the value shopper, this makes this list a perfect starting point to deal for a 3 year old luxury ride. A $70,000 car for $20,000 is exactly how millionaires maintain their Working Millionaire status:

Why did The Don pick Exxon’s Tillerson for Sec State? Tillerson after many years of service received the medal of honor from Putin. Putin asked for him?
Exxon’s Tillerson is ending sanctions for invading Ukraine; Exxon wants largest oil field.
Why did Trump pick DeVos, Blackwater’s Prince’s sister after Prince meets with Putin’s man in remote Indian Ocean Island?
Why did Trump pick Flynn, Page, Manafort for his regime?—all are paid foreign spys with ties to Putin. Why would Putin put Flynn at his RT table except control? Why is Jill Stein at the same table? Which table is for Gary Johnson? Flynn paid by Russians.

Trump tax cut for corporations and wealthy class adds $5.5 Trillion debt
The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said the plan would probably lead to a loss in government revenue by roughly $5.5 trillion over 10 years.
KS tried cutting taxes to stimulate jobs and just went into deeper debt. Few new jobs created because corps don’t want bad schools, roads, public service, high sales taxes.

Trump GOP budget: GOP cuts programs of folks who have no power to oppose cuts. Cowardly. The Don does not like diplomacy, aid to poor, US environment or culture, finding cures for disease, transportation and education programs. Cuts only the poor.
19 Agencies you may use being cut from American society: The Don does not like Meals on Wheels, Sesame St. NPR radio, Arts, Miners retraining, Seniors volunteers for poor, Americorp youth help poor,  62 in all for $343 billion.
Trump’s budget man wants to cut Medicare and delay Social Security benefits to age 70.

What GOP does NOT cut:
No cuts to subsidies to Boeing, GE, Intel, Nike, Shell, Fiat, GM, Ford, hundreds more.
No cuts to United Airlines subsidy even after rip a paying customer from his seat.

Tax returns do matter for presidents that make deals with foreigners:
Trump and GOP are working to cut their own taxes which average 12% now. Yours?
Americans in 150 cities show up for The Don’s taxes to see how Russia helps him win.
Trump says he is under another new audit so can’t show taxes: continuous audit?
Trump may owe $ millions to Putin’s banks. Trump wanted permit to build in Russia. Trump’s foreign lenders will be bailed out FIRST in the next financial meltdown.

Flynn as paid secret agent while US official
Flynn, as part of the Trump campaign and named security advisor, had access to all US secrets and was secretly in the pay of Turkey and Russian spy handlers. Flynn at Putin’s RT party. He received $530,000. Isn’t this treason? By law a US officer cannot receive money from foreign governments. Like Ben Arnold, he was official of US government while being paid by foreign powers. Flynn is not alone. Other Trump operatives are also under investigation by the FBI for potentially illegal contact with senior Russian intelligence operatives. Donald Trump also has a longtime pattern of open admiration for gangsters and organized crime. FBI is following the Steele memo on Trump activities in Russia. FBI, NSA said Russia sought to influence the election. 35% GOP say didn’t.
Did Trump do a background on his hires? Or were Flynn, Page, Manafort plants under Putin control and leveraged by the Trump scandal hidden in Putin’s video player?
Civilians conspire with a hostile power to end Presidential sanctions against that hostile power we are fighting in Syria and Ukraine. Isn’t this treason?
Flynn was warned not to take money from foreigners when he left Pentagon. Trump refused to give Flynn docs to committee on Russia influence. Coverup? Treason?
