Save up to 200% on securities and every financial need

Get What You Pay For: Save 200% on stocks, mutual funds, every financial need
Avoid taxes and fees. Let your money compound.
Cut out the middleman/woman. Buy only what you need.
The best guarantee of lifelong security is having money. We grow our savings in a tax-FREE investment account. It assures us of money when we need it. We stop paying unnecessary taxes. We avoid overpaying for products and services by buying only what we need directly from manufacturers, not salespeople. We save $3,000 a year. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1492384100

ObamaCare saves $1.2 billion in premiums already
6.8 million of us saved an estimated $1.2 billion on health insurance premiums in 2012, due to the “rate review” provision of the Affordable Care Act, which brought unprecedented accountability to slow the growth of health insurance premiums. We received a check for $324—Blue Cross Blue Shield charged more than they needed to cover their overhead and profits. ObamaCare requires insurers spend premiums on claims not on executive perks. http://www.cms.gov/CCIIO/Resources/Fact-Sheets-and-FAQs/ratereview05192011a.html

Vanguard helps millions reach goals
With $2.2 trillion in assets to manage for investors, Vanguard is the top retail mutual fund firm. Many 401k and college savings plans use Vanguard because its funds are owned by investors not stockholders. All services are provided “at cost.” Many money managers, charging 1-3% of your assets, are now using ETFs (index funds) from Vanguard as part of their offerings. Investors have not yet learned that high-paid money managers pay only 0.05% for the ETFs they are resold by their advisor. Pay less; keep more: http://www.amazon.com/Wealth-Without-Wall-Street-Commissions/dp/1442168137

GOP health ins plan costs more than ObamaCare!
The first comprehensive Republican alternative to President Barack Obama's health care plan, a large group of House conservatives is unveiling legislation that provides an expanded tax break for consumers who purchase their own health care and increases government funding for high-risk pools.
The plan endorsed by the Republican Study Committee would let individuals who purchase coverage claim a deduction of $7,500 against income and payroll taxes, regardless of the cost of the insurance. Families could deduct $20,000.
ObamaCare’s exchanges let individuals buy coverage from insurers and receive a tax deduction also. The ObamaCare’s family deduction is not so generous as the GOP plan. Most taxpayers don’t owe $20,000 in taxes anyway! This is socialism for the rich.

Think long term with investments
Habitable conditions on planet Earth will persist for at least another 1.75 billion years and perhaps as much as 3.5 billion years, according to a new study conducted by astrobiologists at the University of East Anglia.

Is your advisor giving you the best options for YOU or him/her?
The government promised to spell out how your advisor should act in giving YOU the best options. Brokers do not have to give you the best advice, only advice that won’t hurt you. New rules surrounding fiduciary standards will have to wait, and wait, and wait some more as financial advisors last week learned that the U.S. Department of Labor has pushed back yet again its proposals to amend the definition of a fiduciary. Unfortunately, when the lawyers start making rules about ethical conduct, we all lose. It is better to trust only those who have no bias about financials. http://www.amazon.com/Unbiased-Advisors-Network-helps-tax-FREE/dp/1470106841

Do you really need life insurance anymore?
In a survey, 55 percent of seniors said they have allowed their life insurance policies to lapse, viewing it as a liability instead of an asset. More than 80 percent of adults aged 66 and over were not aware that they can sell an existing life insurance policy for a cash payout. Maybe you don’t need life insurance anymore. There are several options:  http://www.amazon.com/Life-Insurance-Need-Save-right/dp/1480002178

Overpaying for insurance and investments?

Are you overpaying for insurance and investments?
Your New Financial Checklist:
$Most of us are overpaying for insurance, investments, taxes, etc
$We are confused about what products/services we need to buy.
$Our "advisors" are NOT acting as real fiduciaries.
$We "waste" $3,000 or more each year.
$$Overcharges cost us $100,000 eventually$$
Most of us are wasting more than $3,000 every year. If we invested that $3,000 a year, we could have all the assets we need to protect our families and futures. We even waste our largest savings amount: our tax refund--they average about $3,022 a year. Every year that we overpay for services costs us $100,000 eventually. Our wasted money could be compounding at the highest rates for long-term growth. And most of us do NOT use an account that makes our earnings and withdrawals tax-FREE.

Investors are going direct—avoiding costly advisors
Fewer investors across all age groups are using traditional advisors as their primary provider of financial guidance, according to research group Cerulli Associates. The decline is most pronounced among Americans younger than 50. In 2005, 22% of households headed by individuals in their 20s used advisors as their primary advice provider.  By 2011, only 7% did.  The use of advisors also fell among investors in their 30s and 40s, falling from 20% and 27%, respectively, to 9% and 16%. Investors in older age groups also reported using traditional advisors less, particularly seniors over the age of 70. In 2005, 53% of the over-70 set relied primarily on their advisors for financial advice. By 2011, the percentage fell to 40%. Investors flock to low-cost providers to earn more without Wall Street: http://www.amazon.com/Wealth-Without-Wall-Street-Commissions/dp/1442168137

Were you recently denied a loan, insurance, job, other purchase?
One in four consumers found an error in a credit report issued by a major agency, according to a government study released Monday. The Federal Trade Commission study also said that 5 percent of the consumers identified errors in their reports that could lead to them paying more for mortgages, auto loans or other financial products. The study looked at reports for 1,001 consumers issued by the three major agencies — Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. It is almost impossible to fix their errors. It took one lady 5 years to get them to act. Agencies are not accountable to anyone. Legislation is needed to police the agencies making money from our data: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50140748n

Track your refund home
If you e-file and request direct deposit, the IRS says it should take no longer than three weeks for you to get your refund. If you filed a paper return and asked that your check be mailed to you, it could take up to eight weeks. Once you're past the time frame for issuance of your refund, it's time to log on and locate your money. http://www.irs.gov/Refunds/Where's-My-Refund-It's-Quick,-Easy,-and-Secure.

Long-term care insurance premium increases ... again
Metropolitan Life wants to raise the cost of LTCI in Connecticut by 58%. MetLife told regulators it wants to raise rates an average of 58 percent on 720 policies sold in the state from 1999 to 2003; 10 policies sold there from 2008 to 2011; 1,828 policies sold there from 2005 to 2012; and 3,200 policies sold there from 2005 to 2012. MetLife is no longer marketing LTCI coverage. Connecticut insurance regulators rejected MetLife's request to increase rates in 2010. Consider alternatives: http://www.amazon.com/Long-term-Care-Insurance-better-alternatives/dp/147006877X

Sandy victims still waiting for checks from insurers/banks
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said his administration is working with banks to release nearly $208 million in insurance payments in 6,600 checks already approved and due to victims of storm Sandy. Much of the delay is because federal mortgage agencies require proof of repair work before paying insurance reimbursements. Many have spent their own money to repair and prove construction completion. Now they wait to receive reimbursement. Some can’t do repairs without checks but can’t get checks without proof of repairs. Perfect ‘catch 22.’ Perhaps self-insurance is answer:  http://www.amazon.com/Homeowners-Insurance-Beware-Coverage-Policy/dp/1480100870/

Do you need health care insurance?
Six Republican governors have agreed to expand Medicaid, the second-largest piece of President Barack Obama’s U.S. health-care overhaul, accepting federal money to ensure their state’s residents have access to medical coverage. Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, North Dakota and New Mexico have also agreed to participate in the Medicaid expansion. In all 21 states will expand the number of people eligible for the health program.Pennsylvania’s Tom Corbett, a Republican, said this week he wouldn’t participate. In states that accept it, the Medicaid expansion will make the program available starting next year to any American earning as much as a third more than the federal poverty level, or about $31,800 for a family of four. Eligibility for Medicaid varies by state--two Americas. The program is generally closed to adults who don’t have children. Who will receive your IRA when you pass?
If you haven’t checked lately, now is the time. Your IRA may go to your ex-spouse. Your will does not direct where IRAs, pensions, and other retirement funds go. Wills only deal with minor children, property and trusts. Wills can pass on assets on a “stepped up” basis so heirs avoid your taxes. Common mistakes include putting your kids on your bank accounts and house deeds. Kids lose the benefits of the will. If you want them to control some of your asset, give them a power of attorney and health directive. Find out more athttp://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia or pay your lawyer for an update.

Ameriprise takes advantage of its own employees; what about you?
Ameriprise employees suing their own firm because their own proprietary mutual funds have underperformed the market and the fact that to even offer them in a 401(k) plan violates the trustee’s fiduciary duties is just classic. Throw in an additional count in the complaint alleging that the firm which administered the plan charged excessive fees and paid “kickbacks" to Ameriprise management. Bankers told to stop holding up victim's money for Sandy repair/expenses
Eleven major banks have agreed to speed up their endorsements of borrowers' initial insurance checks, typically worth $5,000 to $20,000. The lenders will also remove some new hurdles created for Sandy victims intended to protect the lenders' collateral in heavily damaged properties. Some banks had been requiring their customers to provide contractors' estimates and other receipts and records to show the advance insurance checks would go to repairing the assets covered by the mortgage, which are the borrowers' collateral for the mortgages, superintendent Lawsky said. Those requirements will end under the deal as part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's effort to speed private and public sector recovery by cutting bureaucracy.
Lawsky said the lenders will also immediately release insurance checks intended to make a home habitable and to pay expenses for living elsewhere.
Bankers were holding funds since November 1, the initial insurance checks used for immediate living expenses! Banks have no SHAME, even after we bailed them out!

Our taxes pay millionaires for being unemployment—why should we pay for this nonsense?
Congressional Research Service reported that 2,362 households with an annual income of $1 million or more received unemployment assistance in 2009, causing some lawmakers to erupt in outrage. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., wrote to Bloomberg: "Sending millionaires unemployment checks is a case study in out-of-control spending. Providing welfare to the wealthy undermines the program for those who need it most while burdening future generations with senseless debt."

Global corps like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks shift taxes to us
Google avoided about $2 billion in income taxes in 2011 by shifting $9.8 billion in revenues into a Bermuda shell company, almost double the total from three years before, filings show. By legally funneling profits from overseas subsidiaries into Bermuda, which doesn’t have a corporate income tax, Google cut its overall tax rate almost in half. The amount moved to Bermuda is equivalent to about 80 percent of Google’s total pretax profit in 2011.
Our "representatives" gave them these gimmicks and now Washington wants to cut our Social Security and Medicare! What the …

Hostess steals pension money as it goes bankrupt
Hostess said it used wages that were supposed to help fund employee pensions for the company's operations as it sank toward bankruptcy. After the company said in August 2011 that it would stop making pension contributions, the foregone wages weren't put toward the pension. Nor were they restored. It filed for bankruptcy protection in January and shut down last month following a strike by one of the unions representing Hostess workers. Mad Money prologue makes sense
Entrepreneurs don’t start business or hire people because tax rates are high or higher. They start when they think they can make money. There should be no Congress vacation without an agreement.

We just can’t afford the $800 Billion a year pentagon system—A $Billion waste!
For the United States Air Force, installing a new software system has certainly proved to be a wicked problem. Last month, it canceled a six-year-old modernization effort that had eaten up more than $1 billion. When the Air Force realized that it would cost another $1 billion just to achieve one-quarter of the capabilities originally planned — and that even then the system would not be fully ready before 2020 — it decided to decamp.

My Social Security and Medicare are NOT "entitlements" to be cut

My Social Security and Medicare are NOT “entitlements” to be cut
Washington politicians are debating whether to cut my “entitlements” as if these payments I made were unearned “welfare,” like oil subsidies or corporate jet deductions.
I paid for my Social Security and Medicare with cold hard cash for years from my hard-earned wages. I paid in good faith that the money would be invested in trust for my old age. Now, these millionaires in Washington that don’t need their Social Security and Medicare security in old age are trying to cut what I worked hard for because they spent  money unwisely—phony wars and tax cuts to friends.
NO. I am not going along with that. Let’s cut the corporate subsidies and war overspending first. They spend $673 Billion to fund war every year—more than the total of the next 15 countries combined. Our 'representatives' give $1.2 Trillion in tax breaks to the rich every year.
The retirement income and medical care I prepaid during my 50 years of work is mine—not an “entitlement” to be cut by millionaires who wasted $3.2-4 Trillion on their phony wars and tax cuts. http://costsofwar.org/

Tax avoiders are the Romney “moochers”—hiding in the Caymans!
Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor, said the ability of some of the highest earners to avoid federal taxes shows why laws should be changed so the wealthy pay more. “They were the moochers, and they paid zero,” Buffett told MSNBC. “The way they get at them is a minimum tax and it's very simple to do.”

Wealthy should pay minimum tax—30% and 35% for ultrarich!
Warren Buffett, master investor, says raising rates does NOT stop investing
“Let's forget about the rich and ultrarich going on strike and stuffing their ample funds under their mattresses if -- gasp -- capital gains rates and ordinary income rates are increased,” Buffett wrote. “Only in Grover Norquist's imagination does such a response exist.” We need to get rid of arrangements like 'carried interest' that enable income from labor to be magically converted into capital gains,” Buffett wrote. “And it's sickening that a Cayman Islands mail drop can be central to tax maneuvering by wealthy individuals and corporations.” http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/26/opinion/buffett-a-minimum-tax-for-the-wealthy.html?_r=0

Does your mutual fund firm add or subtract to your retirement?
Despite Wall Street hype, most of the people who will have a great retirement owe most of the gains to compound interest NOT fast trading. Compound interest is one of the reasons Buffett says he became the second richest billionaire. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/10-things-mutual-fund-companies-wont-say-2012-11-16

Annuity owners beware!
Private-equity firms' are plowing money into indexed-annuity businesses that are becoming agreater burden for insurers as low interest rates continue. Apollo already backs Athene Annuity and Life Assurance Co. Guggenheim owns Security Benefit Life Insurance Co. and EquiTrust Life Insurance Co., and is reinsuring annuities from Standard Life Co. of Indiana. Harbinger Group Inc. also jumped into indexed annuities last year with the purchase of Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Co.
Annuity owners may see fees increase to pay off these speculators. If insurer can’t make money at their own business, how can takeover specialists? Members consider alternatives:http://www.amazon.com/Not-Buy-That-Annuity-Guaranteed/dp/1466494573/

We pay $527 billion for the flood insurance program
Taxpayers are on the hook for at least $527 billion of vulnerable assets in the nation’s coastal flood plains. Those homes and businesses are insured by the federal government’s National Flood Insurance Program. The program’s overall liability is $1.25 trillion. The program is $18 billion in debt, a sum the government acknowledges probably will never be paid back by premiums, and it is likely to need a new multibillion-dollar infusion to pay claims from Hurricane Sandy. It is long past time for the government to stop subsidizing home and business owners who live and build in dangerous flood zones.

PA court disallows long term care insurer to liquidate—blames regulator
PA court has disallowed efforts by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department to liquidate two long-term care insurance (LTCI) companies of Penn Treaty. In the absence of receipt by the Companies of these justified premium rate increases, actuarial projections suggest that there will be insufficient funds to meet the Companies’ future obligations. “A liquidation will shift to the taxpayer the ultimate cost of a state’s refusal to grant actuarially sound rate increases because taxpayers will have to reimburse the guaranty funds.” “The Rehabilitator’s evidence showed that rate regulation is governed by politics, not actuarial evidence or legal principles. This case presents a serious indictment of the existing system of rate regulation of long-term care insurance.”

Paying corporations NOT to grow food while 50 million Americans are paid food stamps to eat. Paying Brazil$150 million so US cotton corporations can export cotton. Paying corporations to grow corn for gasoline additive cost more than Arab oil so US refiners can export. The corporate owners pay less % tax than their workers.

The players get to keep their winnings and we pay for the losses!

Morgan Chase's $2 Billion loss from big wagers is backed by the Fed—no run on bank is necessary.

The bank, betting on a continued economic recovery with a complex web of trades tied to the values of corporate bonds, was hit hard when prices moved against it starting last month, causing losses in many of its derivatives positions. The bank's strategy was "flawed, complex, poorly reviewed, poorly executed and poorly monitored," Mr. Dimon said. Chase sells CDS contracts—insurance—to other banks etc, like AIG did. They placed bets on how the bond markets will go. They have bet about $350 Billion—about 15% of the bank’s assets.

Thanks to the rule “too big to fail,” your taxes back up these risky bets because Chase knows we will bail them out if they fail. They have buddy Geithner on their side. Meanwhile, Goldman says buy AIG stock.

Here we go again!
