Corporations pay no tax but vote with "speech"

Our “representatives” are receiving lots of “free speech” from sponsors
Most corporations pay $0 taxes, yet the Supremes decided they can spend $ billions to influence elections because they have Constitutional “free speech” rights like real people. Many firms obtain government contracts by lobbying our “representatives” with “speech.” GE actually got a tax benefit of 4.1 billion to cover taxes for years. abcnews.go.com/  We will have to make up the loss of tax revenue and pay refunds of $364 Billion to these same firms. Do you have $600,000 of “free speech” to get heard?
Why would Washington care what we middle-class want?

Our own government is shipping our jobs overseas
Defense Dept. granted a staggering 307,123 waivers and exceptions to the Buy American Act over the last 8 years, and spent over $176.8 billion of taxpayers’ dollars on goods manufactured by foreign companies. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) proposed requiring DoD to buy American goods and stop using waivers.
Do foreign firms give DoD a little “free speech” to get the orders?

Our “representatives” have stopped IRS from collecting more $19 million per audit
Top IRS auditors, paid about $150,000, each find on average $19 million of corporate unpaid taxes yearly. If corporations didn’t control Congress, wouldn’t they want to triple the number to find $19 million per auditor every year? That is one way to reduce the deficit but our “reps” REDUCED auditor positions. This increases the likelihood we will pay more. Actually IRS goes after those making less than $25,000 more than those making over $200,000. Corporations actually pay average of 12% not the legal 39% rate by using over 500 loopholes in the IRS code.

Is an annuity a “super bond” for income in retirement?
The Wall Street Journal called income annuities “super bonds.” Wade Pfau, retirement expert, calls them “actuarial bonds.” He said “income annuities have the potential to improve retirement outcomes over what is possible with bond funds.” Many retirees balk at their illiquidity, complex terms and high fees, however.

Reverse mortgage: Warning to banks
Regulators told banks: “It is important that advertisements do not downplay the terms and risks of reverse mortgages or confuse prospective borrowers.” After viewing the ads, consumers were confused about reverse mortgages being loans, and they were left with false impressions that they are a government benefit or that they would ensure consumers could stay in their homes for the rest of their lives. Today, the CFPB is also issuing an advisory that warns consumers that many reverse mortgage ads do not tell the full story.
“As older consumers consider reverse mortgage loans to tap into their home equity, they need to be careful of those late night TV ads [Law & Order guy] that seem too good to be true,” said CFPB Director Richard Cordray.

GOP crazies
House GOP introduced a plan to repeal ObamaCare (ACA) and replace it with high-risk health pools and tax credits that would undermine the employer-sponsored health care system in place today. Employers could just keep the healthy. Severely-ill would be segregated and subject to Congress de-funding every year as food stamps are now.
But health insurers won’t accept “tax credits” as money.

KS will NOT lay off 7,000 workers to give wealthy bigger tax refunds
Kansas will raise sales and cig taxes aimed at low- and middle-class to close $400 million revenue shortfall in the wake of tax cuts to the rich by GOP Gov Sam Brownback 3 years ago. The state told 7,109 state workers, they may have wages cut. GOP thinks reducing consumer demand (increasing sales and cig taxes) will RAISE state revenues. “Trickle down” theory works like that? Crazy! Wealthy use tax cut to expand biz in Vietnam.

GOP court sides with Christie: Violate the 2011 law—screw the unions
NJ Supremes said that state constitutional provisions calling for an annual budget process trump a 2011 law requiring pension contributions from the state. "The decision unfairly requires public workers to uphold their end of the law's bargain — increased weekly deductions from their paychecks to fund their future pensions — while allowing the State to slip from its binding commitment to make commensurate contributions," Judge Albin wrote. "Thus, public workers continue to pay into a system on its way to insolvency."
Last year, a budget with tax hikes passed but Christie vetoed it and reduced pension contributions. He paid $ millions for Bridgegate scandal and gave EXXON $9 Billion waiver instead. Runs all over US on our dime.

Will the Supremes take away your health-care plan?
GOP-leaning Supremes repeal ObamaCare and 9.6 million will go back to No Care
If the Supremes OK the case against states using ObamaCare federal sign up site, 9.6 millions will go back to No Care in 34 states. ObamaCare is now being used by prisons and jails and has changed even UT GOP into accepting ObamaCare for health plans.

Clerk’s religion will now decide if you get married or not
NC Senate Bill 2, would allow magistrates and registers of deeds to refuse to participate in the marriage of any couple whose union violates their “sincerely held religious” beliefs. “SB2 would create a very dangerous precedent,” Meno said. “This is a law that could be used against interracial couples, couples of different religions, divorced couples, virtually anybody.”
GOP-approved religious discrimination takes us back to witch-burning days

Retirees fail to have enough to live on for a reason
Usually there is a reason that we don’t have a comfortable retirement. Advisors cite these money pits: divorce, second home, dependent children, business start-up, health care, extravagance, and elder fraud.

Get help with your savings and reach your goal in HALF the time. Organizations match your dollars FREE. Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) are special savings accounts that match the deposits of low- and moderate-income people. For every dollar saved in an IDA, savers receive a corresponding match which serves as both a reward and an incentive to further the saving habit. In addition to earning match dollars, savers learn about budgeting, saving and receive additional training before purchasing an asset

Pope to ‘try’ bishops that shield child rapists and molesters
Pope Francis has taken the biggest step yet to crack down on bishops who cover up for priests who rape and molest children, creating a new tribunal section inside the Vatican to hear cases of bishops accused of failing to protect their flock. Some multiple rapes.
What about a real jury trial for conspiracy to hide felons—rape of child is an A felony?

SCAMS           Why are we still paying $700 Billion a year for WWII deployments? That is 27 cents of each dollar in taxes—the largest part of our money—and we aren’t even at war. We could pay off our debts and fix our schools, roads and bridges!
We are paying for 164,253 of our active-duty armed personnel to be in 150 countries around the world. We have about 50,000 in Japan and 50,000 in Germany.

We are building another military base for Japan at Henoko. Air Force Gen. Ronald Fogelman admitted that the Marines “serve no military function there. They don’t need to be in Okinawa to meet any time line in any war plan.”
Are we preparing for WWII again? There are 1,208,083[1] armed personnel in the United States. Our taxes pay for about HALF of the WORLD’s military expenditures every year. We have wasted $398.6 billion so far on the F-35 program—they can’t fly safely.
We just can’t afford to pay for everyone else’s defenses anymore.
Japan, Germany and S. Korea can pay to defend themselves.

The War on Terror requires special forces attacks on top terrorists at their homes like Obama’s al-Amr May14 Abu killIraq proved converting a nation to Western-style republic doesn’t work. The troops we trained ran away, left our stuff—more costs. Former Saddam army now ISIS. We are wasting $4 billion a year on Afgan tribal rivalries; paying ransom to Al Qaeda; supporting corruption with our money.

This is how Vietnam started—Kennedy sent 400 ‘advisors’ to train soldiers, May 1961
Obama is poised to send hundreds more American military advisers to a new base (where did that come from) in a strategic Iraqi region to help devise a counterattack against marauding Islamic State militants. Remember the “fierce mountain men known as the Montagnards?” We just never learn—we trained them before and they ran!
Now Vietnam is a trading partner. Let’s just skip the killing part and let Baghdadi have Baghdad. This is a tribal war and we can’t fight it for them.
This is their homeland NOT ours. We have enough oil now.

Army general says futile to send '150,000 soldiers' to defend unreformed Iraq
Gen. Orierno, 6 yr Iraq vet, said that even sending 150,000 US troops to the country - roughly the number of soldiers during the 2007-08 "surge" – would be wasted without a major reorientation by Iraq's Shiite leaders.

Tax evasion cost us $3.09 TRILLION

Tax Evasion over Last Decade Cost US $3.09 Trillion
GAO report cites many offshore tax evasion programs for individuals to try to collect taxes from Americans hiding funds in other countries. Multinational firms can artificially shift profits from high-tax to low-tax jurisdictions using a variety of techniques, such as shifting debt to high-tax jurisdictions. Since tax on the income of foreign subsidiaries is deferred until repatriated, this income can avoid current U.S. taxes and perhaps do so indefinitely. Corporations used to pay 40% of government revenue, now 10%. The payroll tax (on working people) has gone from 5% to 35%.  Stop paying the corporate share. Use your FREE tax haven: http://www.amazon.com/Your-Tax-Haven-Tax-FREE-Americans/dp/1482659441

American democracy headed back to Robber Baron days
Forbes released its annual list of the 400 wealthiest Americans. They’re worth a combined $2.29 trillion (up $270 billion from last year) – a 13 percent increase. These 400 billionaires now own more wealth than the bottom half of America – over 150 million people. Meanwhile, while the very rich become richer, most Americans have become poorer. Median family income has declined by almost $5,000 since 1999 and over half of the American people have less than $10,000 in savings.

Do you live in one of the lowest pay cities in US?
The working poor class is growing in Orlando, which has the lowest median pay among the 50 most-populous American metropolitan areas. Three of the city’s largest employers, including Walt Disney, increased starting pay this year. Even after Disney raised its minimum wage to $10 per hour, many employees live below the federal poverty line. Leisure and hospitality jobs make up about 20 percent of the labor force but are low pay. Many workers can’t feed families on $25,000 a year. Orlando is now the most-visited U.S. tourist destination, yet 40 percent of jobs in Orlando pay less than $25,000 per year. A local economy dominated by low-wage jobs has caused fiscal troubles for cities as well as among wage earners. Orlando lifted property taxes by 17.7 percent last month to close a $17 million budget hole next year. It joins low-wage cities like Atlantic City, New Jersey and Memphis, Tennessee, struggling to cover rising costs. Tourists like cheap labor but hate crumbling infrastructure.

How can this trend be reversed?
With the Citizens United Supreme Court decision, the wealthy can now buy elections like they did in the early 1900s, before campaign contribution regulation. Wealthy activists are supporting GOP states like OH, NC, AL, TX, KS, TN, WV, GA, ME, WI, FL where voter suppression has been institutionalized. The state governments are passing new laws to require 3 IDS, limit voting times and days, destroy voter registrations and absentee ballots, require passport picture IDs, etc, just like in Russia.
Could a foreign country using a dummy corporation buy an election?
Yes, it is possible now since contributions NO LONGER have to be disclosed to anyone.

ObamaCare enrollment starts Nov 15.

Can you find a new car for under $20K?
Edmunds did the research for you. Even though new cars can lose 40% of their value in 3 years, you might find one of these with zero financing now. Or take last years’ models for spin and save $10K. Some have great reliability and gas mileage. Lower insurance too.

Are stock market forecasters right for you?
When your advisor/broker gives you their ideas/recommendations they are really forecasting the future. Consider what recently happened to one of the best fortune-tellers. Investment giant Pimco’s CEO Bill Gross, considered the bond guru of the age, just walked out of his job of 43 year. In 2011, he became a deficit hawk, declaring that low interest rates were “robbing” investors. He pulled many of his investors out of U.S. debt instruments. He predicted a spike in interest rates when the Fed ended a program of debt purchases in June 2011. He was completely wrong, and neither he nor Pimco ever recovered.
Did Wall Street learn from this bad fortune-telling? NO. People who were predicting soaring inflation and interest rates five years ago are still predicting soaring inflation and interest rates today, vigorously rejecting any suggestion that they should reconsider their views in light of experience. Listen to Warren Buffett who actually runs businesses: "The only value of stock forecasters is to make fortune-tellers look good."

GOP crazies
Rep. Michele Bachmann and Hunter predicted that ISIS members are planning imminent attacks inside the U.S. and will make American cities experience levels of violence seen in Iraqi cities like Baghdad. After arguing that ISIS members are entering the country as they illegally cross the southern border and “march through our United States airports,” Bachmann made the false claim that “President Obama released Baghdadi,” referring to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi. In fact, he was released during the Bush administration. “I don’t want to see the car bombings and all of the havoc and chaos coming to the United States that we see in Baghdad,” she said. “Since we have the Islamic State come into the United States, we’ll see a wave of car bombings and bombings that occur here in the United States that would begin the process of destabilization to bring them to the point of defeating us here in the United States.”
Ms Bachmann is on the House Intelligence Committee and may run for President.

Is mortgage refi right for you?
Rates are still low—3-4%--and you may be able to switch from a 30-year to a 15-year without much more money. Problem is that banks use computerized apps now and you may be declined even if you have good credit and great income prospects. Last month, the former chair of the Federal Reserve got his “we are sorry” letter. This is the man who set the bank rates for the country during the 2nd worst financial crisis, and he can’t get a refi on a sub-$million home in DC. Wow. Ben Bernanke makes over a $100 grand PER speech and will take down $250K plus as a lobbyist somewhere, and he can’t get a loan. The computer says he has no “regular” job, so he gets the decline letter. Pendulum swings in credit are horrific so you need to

Brokers may not pay up even if you win your dispute--BEWARE
If your broker misleads you and you win a judgment in arbitration (suits are banned), you may never collect because brokerage firms do not have to carry insurance according to their regulator FINRA. A group of investors won a $3.9 million judgment against brokerage firm Resource Horizons Group, after the firm failed to supervise a broker who was running a fraud scheme on the side. The judgment is larger than the brokerage's net capital, which was $558,628, so investors are out of luck. In 2012, brokerage firms failed to pay $50 million in awards to customers.

25% of young people ages 25 to 34 say they trust “no one” on money matters
Nearly 1 in 4 say they trust "no one" for money advice, according to a new study from Fidelity Investments. About a third said they trust their parents most for information on money, but many reported a real lack of communication with their parents about their finances. Former AIG owner says he wants more of bailout from US
When the NY Fed, Geithner and US Treasurer, Paulson panicked over the bank gambling debts in 2007, the Fed asked Warren Buffett if AIG was good for the loan. Buffett Says He Gave Geithner Assurance Before 2008 AIG Bailout for $85 billion. The bailout grew to $182.3 billion, with the U.S. Treasury Department also providing assistance. This debate has turned into a lawsuit. AIG has paid back the loan but the former owner wants more.

Earn 11% or 3%

Earn 11% NOT 3% and NO TAX
Is your broker/advisor trying to predict the future? Average broker returns were 3.69%.
Investing in an individual stock or fund means you are predicting where its price (position) will be in the future. You are betting that it will reach that price within a given time (momentum). Unless you have insider information, you are really gambling. No one can know a stock's position and momentum in the future. Just like in physics, there is no way to know you'll be in the money (position) in time (momentum).
In 1927, scientists discovered we can NEVER know the future but we continue to pay salesmen to weave tales of our future fortunes. Earn 11.11% NOT 3.69% with no tax:

Group annuities have oversized hidden fees
Group annuities are common among 401(k)s because they appear to be cost effective, turnkey options for owners. However, they are the big cash cow of the industry and slice your portfolio growth. Fees can range between 3.5% and 5%. Because group annuities are technically an insurance product, they do not disclose fees like other investments. This makes it difficult for users to know the real cost of the plan. Thus, employers are being sued for high fee plans. Fees can take up to 63% of your retirement fund over time. Use low fee account: http://www.amazon.com/The-Best-Annuity-Strategy-Income/dp/1497532019

Grow your IRA like a millionaire
About 9,000 taxpayers have each accumulated at least $5 million in IRAs, said the GAO. Tax-advantaged low-fee accounts can really spur your retirement fund. Find out how to reach $1 million or more: http://www.amazon.com/The-New-American-Retirement-System/dp/1461030072

Is the Vanguard Windsor II fund right for you?
Since 1985, this managed fund has provided an average return of 11.14%. It owns large companies that are temporarily depressed for non-crucial reasons. It costs more than the Vanguard 500 index (.36% vs .05%) but provides value-weighted market exposure for the long term. Windsor II is one of the Vanguard Top 10:  http://www.amazon.com/Vanguards-Top-Ten-mutual-funds/dp/150073909X

Largest pension fund drops high cost hedge funds
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System plans to divest the entire $4 billion that it invested with hedge funds, saying they’re too expensive and complex. The largest U.S. pension is getting out of hedge funds even as other large public plans such as New Jersey’s add to the private portfolios. The pension fund paid $135 million in fees for hedge funds that earned just 7.1 percent compared with CALPers overall 18.4%. Vanguard’s Top 10 provided over 30%: http://www.amazon.com/Vanguards-Top-Ten-mutual-funds/dp/150073909X

Buffett’s partner in Berkshire’s $337 billion empire tells secrets
Charles Munger explains Buffett’s secrets of success: how patience works in investing.
Fidelity studied 401(k) millionaires and found they had worked at their companies for more than 30 years. They were on average 59 years old. They also invested a significant portion of their savings in stocks and stock mutual funds. One of the key findings is that it didn't happen overnight. It took many years of saving and investing. It is never too late to start with $250 a month:

401k contributions can reach $4 million
The GAO calculated, for example, that if a worker had received the maximum combined employer-employee contribution to a defined contribution plan (401k) every year from 1980 to 2011, and invested it the S&P 500 portfolio, he would have nearly $4 million in that account by the end of 2011.

IRS lets retirement plan assets split for tax-FREE growth
IRS made a new rule that permits savers to break out that after-tax portion of money within the retirement plan and convert it to a Roth IRA free of taxes. This decision applies strictly to money within a company's retirement plan, noted Ed Slott, an IRA expert. Roth IRA accounts do not require withdrawals after age 71.

What can the “Fiduciary Standard” do for you?
Financial and investment advisors are duty-bound to exercise a fiduciary standard of care. The fiduciary standard requires that the interest of the client comes first. Brokers are not regulated by the Advisers Act and are required to meet only a suitability standard of care.
The current debate means that your broker can push the best commission product on you without telling you there are better products available. Your advisor is required to offer the best solution for your situation. Of course, all salespeople can only offer what their firms carry in stock so you probably won’t end up with the best product for you. Example: Salespeople are NOT going to tell you that you can earn 11% instead of 3% by buying a commission-FREE stock market index fund with a low annual fee. You need to do research for yourself: http://www.amazon.com/Earn-11%-or-3%-Investments-Your choice/dp/1502412187

We can’t beat armed guerrillas ISIS with conventional warfare. We should have learned that in Vietnam. We spent $1 billion to train the Iraq army to fight a conventional war not their own people. That’s why they ran away from ISIS.
