Can you recession-proof your retirement?

Greatest financial miracle is unknown to Americans

The single greatest factor in why most of us are living paycheck to paycheck is that only 7 states teach what Einstein called “the most powerful force in the universe.” High schools teach how to open a checking account but not a tax-FREE college fund or tax-FREE retirement account. They don’t show the safest way to grow $250 a month into $250,000. They don’t explain how a stock mutual fund works over time. They don’t show how to save and reduce income taxes all at once. They don’t show how Warren Buffett grew his paper route money into $124 Billions. "My life has been a product of compound interest." Teach your child to use the miracle of compounding in 1 hour.

Can you recession-proof your retirement?

A recession is generally identified by a fall in GDP in two successive quarters. Interest rates are raised in order to kill inflation but raising rates can also bring recession. So what can you do to protect your nest egg? Actually, you can’t stop the effects on your retirement fund. There is no free lunch. However, my readers have already sold the low-interest paying bonds they owned. They own only TIPS now. They have cashed in low-interest CDs since none offer yields over the inflation rate. Some are looking at a reverse mortgage since they have so much equity. Some have accumulated gold and silver as they may hold value to fight inflation long term. Some have considered a long-term care policy. Many have added commodity and real estate investment trust funds so they can be diversified. Some rebalanced their portfolios to overweight small cap stock funds. They may be the first stocks to overcome this inflation. Most have held on to all their stock index funds since stocks have often rebounded from a down year by the next year.

Is Bitcoin right for you?

Some advisors are pushing this virtual currency for portfolio to retire on. But unbiased analysts like Buffett and Munger offer this advice: cryptocurrencies aren’t productive like farmland or other real estate. This leaves the billionaire investor unsure of what to do with Bitcoin. You can’t buy normal things like a home or groceries. There have been thefts and there are no controls on who has access to the virtual world. By it’s nature, crypto has provided criminals with lucrative opportunities. Crypto is known as a volatile asset and belongs in the speculative part of a portfolio like pork belly futures. Over the years, they attracted a wide following from market analysts and traders eager to try to profit from the ups and downs of this niche market. In 2011, the CME announced the end of pork bellies trading on its exchange. Extreme volatility coupled with dwindling trader interest made the product no longer relevant to financial markets.

Will America be destroyed by letting the rich pay less tax?
With corporations and the super wealthy paying less tax, the national debt is now $30 Trillion. Our reps gave the rich another tax cut in 2017 so now we spend more than our income. America lives on credit. History says America can’t survive forever on credit. Our own tax collection firm (IRS) can’t even collect what they know is owed by the wealthy. The schemes for tax avoidance are so complicated; public servants can’t find or collect it. So unless we come up with a better system, our “me-me culture” may not be able to dig itself out of debt. The trend for wealth INEQUALITY is going the wrong way—wealthy are getting richer and the unwealthy are getting poorer. Upper middle-class two wage-earning households are paying an average of 32.9% tax while many wealthy pay less than 17.7%. Don’t get caught paying off the debt of the rich and famous.

How to achieve your financial independence

Justin stopped working at salary of $70,000 with $1.3 million in order to travel with family. It took hard work and planning but it can be done. He used low-cost state college and low-cost mutual funds at work. He used the Miracle of Compounding.  He started investing early. He cut wasteful expenses with a budget. He had the agreement of his family. It helps if family members agree to the strategy. If you are prepared to put away money religiously you can quit at age 33 too. Use a tax-FREE account. Invest BEFORE you buy groceries. Forget using stock pickers and bits of coin.

Tax-refund Millionaire-- https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Most people spend their tax refund—your refund could be a retirement nest egg

Michele had trouble saving. She seemed to always be waiting for her next paycheck. She never had enough to save for a rainy day like her Mom did. She used to make about $35,000 as a shop manager but with federal, social security, Medicare and state taxes, unemployment, disability, and health insurance, she was not able to put anything away for retirement. Years ago, her local tax preparer suggested she use her tax refund to create a retirement fund. Usually Michele would use her refund to pay bills or buy something special. The tax preparer said that if she agreed to start an IRA with $2,000 of her refund, she would be able to increase her refund—Uncle Sam would help her save. The amount she invested would reduce her income and make her refund larger. The $2,000 could grow over time, if she left it in stock mutual funds in her IRA account. Over time, it has grown large enough that she will have enough for retirement.

Everything in the universe from sun to stones is made of subatomic ‘vibrations’

Light is both a particle and a wave depending on how we look at the light.

A subatomic ‘particle’ is the smallest possible vibration (quantum) of a quantum field.

Mass–energy equivalence: E=mc^2.  At the smallest level; Everything is moving!

Inside protons, neutrons, it is the fields of the virtual particles that creates its mass.

“Empty space is a boiling, bubbling brew of virtual particles that pop in and out of existence in a time scale so short that you can’t even measure them.” Space expanding.
